(Hydraulic Pressure Boosters)

Hydraulic Pressure Boosters are devices which are used to recover the energy contained in the RO/NF concentrate stream instead of throttling them to atmospheric pressure (normally low pressure RO/NF systems use throttling valves). The recovered energy is then given to the feed to increase its pressure. By doing so, the size of the feed pressurizing pumps can be reduced. Thus such turbines are Energy Saving devices.

Till very recently, these turbines were only used for high pressure seawater RO plants. However, Somicon is cooperating with FEDCO to offer them for low pressure RO/NF processes. 

In addition, we can also offer solutions for other process conditions where high pressures are throttled. The goal is to recover energy thereby reducing the operating and investment cost. These machines are a very robust construction and pay for themselves in a short time.
